Aromatic GABA Gyokuro MATNTEN (Anytime Tea)

Aromatic GABA Gyokuro MATNTEN (Anytime Tea)

Kanoa Tea

The aromatic GABA Gyokuro MANTEN from Kanoa is crafted from Manten, a proprietary cultivar developed exclusively by Kanoa's partner farm. Its distinctive aroma comes from a traditional withering process more commonly used in Oolong production — a rare technique for Gyokuro — which develops a natural, Oolong-like fragrance without any added flavouring. Shaded for 30 days before harvest, it offers a refined taste experience with delicate floral notes and a smooth, well-balanced character.

Contents: 50 g (loose tea leaves)

Cultivar: MANTEN (a cultivar invented by our partner)

Cultivation: From sustainable and environmentally friendly cultivation

Origin: Shizuoka, Japan (Single Origin)

Brewing Instructions:
 ・ Tea leaves: 3g
 ・ Water temperature: 50-60°C (122°F)
 ・ Water amount: 100-150ml
 ・ Steeping time: 3 minutes

Refills: The tea can be re-steeped one to two times. With each subsequent infusion, the water can be about 10 °C hotter, while the steeping time becomes slightly shorter. This allows new layers of aroma to unfold, letting you experience how the flavour of the tea evolves with every infusion.

Carefully crafted from 100% natural green tea leaves, MANTEN reflects the quality, tradition, and expertise of Japanese tea production. Its smooth flavour profile and pronounced umami character make it a distinctive choice for tea enthusiasts.

How to Store Japanese Tea

Unopened Tea: Store the tea in a cool, dark place, away from heat and moisture. For long-term storage, you can place the resealable original packaging inside an airtight bag and freeze it. Allow the tea to return to room temperature before opening to prevent condensation.

Opened Tea: Keep the tea either in the resealable original packaging or transfer it to an airtight tea caddy. Store it in a cool, dark place, and keep it away from strong-smelling items to preserve its freshness and aroma.
