3 KEY FEATURES OF MANTEN

Exceptionally Aromatic Tea

Thanks to a revolutionary production method invented and patented by my partner, this tea offers an unparalleled aromatic experience.

Innovative Gyokuro with Minimal Caffeine

Produced using a specialised processing method that results in a lower caffeine content compared with conventional Gyokuro tea. Its smooth flavour profile makes it a distinctive addition to any tea collection.

Significantly Increased GABA Content

GABA Gyokuro MANTEN contains approximately 450 mg of GABA per 100 g of tea. Carefully crafted in Japan, this unique tea combines a rich umami character with the distinctive qualities created through the traditional GABA tea production process.

  • First Infusion (50-60°C)

The tea’s sweetness and deep umami come to life, creating a smooth and luxurious first sip. Steep for 2 to 3 minutes.

  • Second Infusion (65-70°C)

The flavours deepen, introducing gentle vegetal notes with subtle savouriness. Steep for 1 minute.

  • Third Infusion (75-80°C)

The final steep reveals a richer, slightly astringent character, finishing with a lasting, satisfying aftertaste. Steep for 30 seconds.

How to Store Japanese Tea

Unopened Tea: Store the tea in a cool, dark place, away from heat and moisture. For long-term storage, you can place the resealable original packaging inside an airtight bag and freeze it. Allow the tea to return to room temperature before opening to prevent condensation.

Opened Tea: Keep the tea either in the resealable original packaging or transfer it to an airtight tea caddy. Store it in a cool, dark place, and keep it away from strong-smelling items to preserve its freshness and aroma.
