Kanoa Tea

Kanoa Private Culture Salon
Gyokuro & Ikebana — Berlin

Kanoa brings together the world of Kanoa Tea and the Japanese art of ikebana into an intimate private salon experience in Berlin. In a setting of 1 to 4 guests, you experience Japanese aesthetics through the body — not as a course, not as a ceremony, but as a quiet moment to yourself.

Each session is different. The tea leaves change with the season. The flowers are never the same twice.

Gyokuro Experience
Sourced directly from a single farm in Shizuoka, gyokuro is the pinnacle of Japanese tea — rare even in Japan itself. The way it is prepared changes with the season: cold-brewed in summer, slow and low in spring, rich and warming in winter. Taking the time to savour the finest Japanese tea is a gift to yourself. Come back often enough, and you'll find yourself brewing gyokuro with care at home.

Ikebana & Seasonal Flowers
At the heart of ikebana is the flower itself. Unlike Western flower arranging, ikebana is not about abundance — it is about restraint, space, and the relationship between stem, leaf, and void. With seasonal blooms in hand, we explore together how to read each flower's character and bring out its best — how to cut, how to place, and how to let the empty space speak. Sometimes with a kenzan, sometimes without.

Rare Hon-Gyokuro Tasting

As part of this workshop, you will have the opportunity to taste hand-picked Hon-Gyokuro, one of the most exclusive and high-end Japanese green teas.

This tea is normally served only in selected tea cafés, where a single serving typically costs €15–20.

Hand-picked Hon-Gyokuro accounts for well under 0.1 % of total Japanese green tea production, making it an exceptionally rare tea that is rarely experienced outside Japan.

  • The art of brewing japanese tea at home

Learn to feel the difference between water temperatures, tea leaves, and vessels. Over time, you'll find yourself brewing japanese tea with quiet confidence in your own kitchen.

  • A new way of seeing flowers

Discover how to read a flower's character — its curve, its weight, its silence — and let that guide your arrangement. A skill that changes how you see nature long after the session ends.

  • A moment of stillness you can return to

Not a technique to master, but a feeling to carry with you. Each visit deepens your sense of Japanese aesthetics — slowly, without you even noticing.
