Experience Umami with Premium Japanese Gyokuro
Kanoa Tea
Berlin Tea Festival 2026 | Guided Gyokuro Experience
Discover umami through one of the most refined forms of Japanese green tea: handpicked premium Gyokuro.
In this 60-minute guided experience, Kanoa Tea introduces you to the world of Gyokuro – from its distinctive production and exceptional umami character to the way it is traditionally enjoyed in Japan.
Together, we will slowly experience handpicked premium Gyokuro and explore its characteristic sweetness, depth and umami. You will also learn how to prepare Gyokuro properly at home, including the right water temperature, amount of tea and brewing time.
The session concludes with a Senchadō-inspired preparation demonstration, offering an insight into the cultural dimension of Japanese tea.
And the experience continues at home: each participant will receive a small portion of the same handpicked premium Gyokuro to take home and prepare for themselves.

Rare Hon-Gyokuro Tasting
As part of this workshop, you will have the opportunity to taste hand-picked Hon-Gyokuro, one of the most exclusive and high-end Japanese green teas.
This tea is normally served only in selected tea cafés, where a single serving typically costs €15–20.
Hand-picked Hon-Gyokuro accounts for well under 0.1 % of total Japanese green tea production, making it an exceptionally rare tea that is rarely experienced outside Japan.
